My First Colorado Snowboarding Video

Thanks for watching my first Colorado Snowboarding Video

This was shot during the 2014-2015 season. I’m the Camera Operator and Editor. The rider is Alec Vandeweerd.

When Alec and I first met, I was in my early thirties and he wasn’t even twenty yet. I was a bit skeptical about living, riding, and shooting with someone who was nearly half my age.

A few years later, I can’t imagine what my life in the High Country would even be like if we hadn’t met.

I’ve had a lot of fun and gained a lot of experience riding and shooting with him. He is always super chill and positive.

Area 51 Terrain Park – Keystone Resort

As the guy behind the camera, I don’t have the same skills in the terrain park as the riders, although I do spend most of my time on the mountain practicing and getting better.

The Area 51 Terrain Park at Keystone is a perfect place to progress. With 60-acres, 100-features, and a lift that is specifically for the park, Riders can take more laps and focus on features of any size.

I love riding a park with its own lift… The lift allows riders to get the most laps possible in a given amount of time, which ultimately means better progression for the riders, and more fun.

Area 51 has multiple lines of features, from super small beginner bumps to world-class sized jumps and rails, and everything in between.
